Thuraya has strengthened its maritime commercial team to reflect its growing presence in the shipping and fishery sectors.
Leticia Diaz Del Rio has joined the organisation as Market Development Manager, Maritime, based in Dubai, while Phoebe Wang joins the Company as Sales Manager, Maritime, based in Singapore.
As a member of the Market Development team, Leticia will be responsible for directly generating customer demand, identifying and cultivating new opportunities to sell Thurayas maritime products and services through direct engagement with end-users and service partners around the globe.
She brings a wealth of experience across all maritime segments gained at the satellite operator and service provider level derived from her previous positions in Inmarsat, as part of the Maritime Market Development team, and in Satlink where she served the fishing industry addressing both end-user and governmental markets.
Phoebe Wang will join the distribution team to support sales of Thurayas maritime products and services in Asia through its established distribution channels, identifying opportunities and strategies to grow the maritime business in this crucial maritime location.
Phoebe has worked for leading maritime service providers including Navarino and Globecomm where she served as Business Development Manager focusing on the Asia Pacific region for direct sales business.

Thurayas market-driven approach to the MSS sector has seen it outpace the industrys average growth over the past two years, thanks to a strong focus on addressing customer needs. The maritime product portfolio at Thuraya has expanded in 2014 with the addition of two new broadband terminals to reflect market demand for alternative solutions. The Thuraya Orion IP terminal started shipping in early 2014 to support customers looking for good value in a solid maritime terminal. Thuraya Atlas IP terminal was announced in June and will begin shipping later in 2014, supporting an added value level of voice and data communications.
