'Add To Music App' directly stimulates music consumption on various streaming platforms, including Spotify.
TikTok has announced the global expansion of its “Add to Music App” feature, now available to users in 19 additional countries worldwide, including the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, following its launch in the US and UK one month ago.
The “Add to Music App” feature enables music enthusiasts to save the songs they discover on TikTok directly to their preferred music streaming services, such as Spotify.
Rolling out in 19 new markets, including Canada, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Sweden, Thailand, Malaysia, UAE, Argentina, Colombia, The Netherlands, Turkey, South Africa, Vietnam, and the Philippines, the feature is designed to empower users to capture and save songs in the moment of discovery.
Displayed as a button labelled “Add Song” next to a track name at the bottom of a TikTok video in the For You Feed, the feature invites users to save the song to their chosen music streaming service. Upon the first press of the “Add Song” button, users can select their preferred music streaming service, with the track automatically saved to a default playlist. Users also have the option to add the track to a new or existing playlist of their creation. Subsequently, the chosen music app becomes the default service for future track saves, with users retaining the flexibility to change preferences in the settings.
Speaking about the new feature, Ole Obermann, TikTok’s Global Head of Music Business Development, said: “We have already had an incredible response to the launch of Add to Music App in the US and UK. Music fans are embracing the opportunity to save music from TikTok directly to their favourite music streaming services, driving music discovery and helping more tracks to break through and become hits. We are really excited to be bringing the feature to millions more music fans around the world, providing even more opportunities for artists to reach new audiences and grow their careers.”
