UK-based broadcast systems integrator ATG Broadcast has appointed Tim Felstead as Head of Sales and Marketing. He joins from Harris Broadcast Communications where he was active in global product marketing for the division’s Workflow Infrastructure and Networking group.

“He is a highly regarded throughout the industry for his understanding of the market and the technology which drives it. His knowledge base includes television production, graphics, automation, asset-management and transmission/delivery systems.”
“Systems integration is becoming an increasingly vital service in today’s IT-centric market with the expanding use of software-based technology running on enterprise-class computer platforms,” added Tim Felstead.
“ATG Broadcast spearheaded the transition from baseband analog and digital into file-based production, content management and playout back in the 1990s. My role will be to develop this core aspect of its operation and to expand the product sales activity which the company has established in the UK and Middle East.
Tim Felstead commenced his broadcast career in 1986 as a software engineer at Electronic Graphics Ltd, progressing to Abekas Video Systems and Philips/Bosch Broadcast Television Systems UK in 1991. After moving to Thomson Broadcast in 1994, and after a series of promotions, he was appointed UK General Manager for Thomson Grass Valley. Having served a total of 18 years with BTS/Thomson/Grass Valley, he joined Harris Broadcast in 2009 as Head of Business, Transmission, Contribution and Distribution.
He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Applied Chemistry, an MSc in Information Technology and a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA). He is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
