Tropfest Arabia, the Arabic version of the worlds largest short film festival, has announced its panel of celebrity judges. Representing countries across the Middle East and North Africa, this is the second year of Tropfest Arabia, which will take place on 26th October 2012 on the Abu Dhabi Corniche.
The judging panel features a selection of celebrated filmmakers, producers and directors from across the Middle East. Emirati animator and Chairman of Lammtara Mohammed Saeed Harib will be on the panel, joined by Kuwaiti film producer and director Amer Al Zuhair, Jordanian actress and producer Seba Mubarak, Syrian actress and filmmaker Kinda Alloush, Egyptian writer and director Amr Salama, Lebanese musician and composer Khaled Mouzanar, and Saudi Arabias first female filmmaker Haifaa Al Mansour.
Short films can still be submitted for Tropfest Arabia 2012, with the deadline for entry closing Thursday 6th September. Shortlisted finalists will be announced Sunday 30th September, and the winner announced Friday 26th October.
Tropfest has developed a reputation for providing unique opportunities to emerging filmmakers through its events and initiatives. Last years Tropfest Arabia enjoyed success at the Abu Dhabi Corniche with some of the Arab regions top actors and directors, and an audience of 12,000 film fans.
