Turner Broadcasting has named Tal Hewitt to the role of VP & General Manager for its operations in Turkey, Middle East and Africa.
Responsible for Turners entertainment channel portfolio including Cartoon Network, Boomerang and TCM, the role is an expanded remit for Hewitt who was previously GM for Turners operations in Turkey. Hewitt continues to report to Rani Raad, Chief Commercial Officer, CNN International and MD for Turner Broadcasting Turkey, ME & Africa.
Announcing the appointment, Raad said: Its an exciting time to have a clear growth remit in these fast-developing markets. Ill be tapping into the expertise and skill Tal has demonstrated most particularly in cementing our Turkish operation through a time of change.
He added: Tal will be focused on maintaining the valuable relationships we have already forged in these markets, as well as new business development and innovative partnerships. Turkey, the Middle East and Africa are key growth markets and Tal will be instrumental in helping us further develop our business there.
