BBC Studios has also appointed Spacetoon International Agent as the licensing representative for 'Bluey', to oversee the expansion of the 'Bluey' licensing programme in the Middle East.
BBC Studios Kids & Family has announced plans to expand the animated series Bluey in the Middle East in 2024, bringing joy and entertainment to audiences in the region.
Bluey will be available for the first time on the free-to-air platform Spacetoon Kids, offering a broader audience the chance to experience the adventures of the beloved Blue Heeler dog and her family. The theatre show, Bluey’s Big Play The Stage Show, will make its debut in Abu Dhabi, following sell-out performances in the US and Australia.
As part of the expansion, Bluey merchandise will see increased availability in the region, facilitated by the appointment of Spacetoon International Agent as the licensing representative. Spacetoon Kids TV will air season one of the TV series, created and written by Joe Brumm and produced by the multiple Emmy Award-winning Ludo Studio.
The series follows Bluey, an inexhaustible Blue Heeler dog, and her family as they embark on unpredictable and hilarious adventures. Bluey’s boundless energy turns everyday events into entertaining experiences, showcasing the joyful simplicity found in family life.
BBC Studios appointed Spacetoon International Agent to oversee the expansion of the Bluey licensing programme in the Middle East. Hollywood Magic, a new licensee, has been added to the local roster, with plans to launch Bluey apparel next year. Toy Pro will introduce musical toys and puzzles, and the master toy line from Moose Toys is set to be distributed locally by Playtrend Trading.

Bluey’s Big Play, a theatrical adaptation of the TV series, is set to make its Middle East debut in Abu Dhabi from August 30, 2024, at the Etihad Arena. With an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and new music by Bluey composer Joff Bush, the stage show promises a unique experience with live actors, puppets, and iconic sets. The show features original voices from the TV series and is produced by Andrew Kay and Theory Eleven with Windmill Theatre Co for BBC Studios.
