The agreement will transition media outlets to cloud workflows throughout the region.
TVU Networks (TVU), a global provider of IP-based live video solutions, has entered into an agreement with the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) to deliver advanced media transmission solutions to all ASBU member organisations.
Speaking about the collaboration, Rafael Castillo, Vice President and General Manager for EMEA & LATAM for TVU, said: “We are pleased to develop our relationship with ASBU members by providing IP and cloud solutions that ensure every transmission is a success.”
Basil Zoubi, ASBU Director of Technology and Innovation, stated: “This workflow will allow easy media exchange without obstacles. TVU technology provides a high-resolution, low-latency signal that rivals satellite transmission at a fraction of the cost.”
The agreement utilises live video content distribution over IP through TVU receivers and the cloud-based TVU Grid service. TVU Grid is the optimal method for ASBU members to transmit to and receive from ASBU Cloud, a central media exchange hub that supports member organisations across the Middle East and North Africa.
Emad Qawasmi, Managing Director of MENA for TVU Networks, added: “We share a vision with the ASBU leadership to transform broadcasting throughout the region.”
By expanding access to its state-of-the-art solutions, TVU Networks aims to empower media organisations in emerging markets to thrive in the rapidly evolving digital landscape. This initiative underscores TVU’s dedication to fostering growth and innovation in the global media industry.
Awad Eid, Head of Multimedia Exchange Networks at ASBU, remarked: “This partnership marks a significant milestone for ASBU and its member organizations. By integrating TVU’s advanced IP and cloud-based solutions, we are ensuring that our media outlets can operate with greater efficiency and flexibility. This initiative will not only enhance the quality and reliability of broadcasts of our members but also pave the way for future innovations in media exchange across the region.”
The agreement was formalised at a signing ceremony during the recent ASBU Conference. Member organisations in Somalia, Comoros and Djibouti are the first to implement the new advanced receivers and utilise TVU Grid.
