Following the resignation of Hasan Sayed Hasan, head of twofour54 intaj and CEO Tony Orsten earlier this month, BroadcastPro Middle East can reveal that the media free zone in Abu Dhabi has made two senior staff members redundant on January 29.
Although no one was available for comment from twofour54, it is believed that the media precinct is due for some restructuring this year.
In the meantime, Orsten’s role will be taken over by Noura Al Kaabi, head of tawasol, twofour54’s development arm and member of the Federal National Council. In previous conversations with the press, Orsten has always maintained that his objective was to eventually ensure that an Emirati could take over his role and it is widely believed that Al Kaabi was being groomed for the role.
Hasan Sayed Hasan, on the other hand, is setting up his own company Master Media at twofour54 although he will continue to work as a consultant for the media freezone and help integrate Baynouna’s facilities with twofour54.
