UAE-based production company Arabian Studios will begin filming season two of its new documentary film Arabia Felix in May in the emirates, its owner has revealed to BroadcastPro Middle East.
Season one of the documentary film series will debut this year at a number of international film festivals.
The series of films capture footage of real people living their lives in various environments across the Middle East and will eventually cover the entire Arab region.
Season one profiles the true stories of individuals and families living in Yemen, the poorest country in the Middle East.
Film maker and owner of Arabian Studios, Ali Mansour Al Ali began shooting footage in Yemen along with a crew 200-strong in late 2010 and continued for three months.
The film was shot using a Canon 5D camera to achieve a documentary style finish.
Many cameras were tested, but the 5D offered low costs and easy transportation. It also gave us the feel of a raw film, says Al Ali.
The Yemen film is divided into seven episodes of 30 minutes.
Arabian Studios opened its Dubai office in October 2011. The production company also has offices in Paris, London, Milan and Beirut.
