The Ultimate Fighting Championship has signed up with Abu Dhabi Media to roll out a localised OTT service and mobile app in the MENA region bringing the sport to fans of the championship in the region.
Pay-television broadcaster Abu Dhabi Media has obtained exclusive Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) media rights in MENA, with the state-run group to roll out a localised OTT service and mobile app in the area.
The multi-year deal consists of all live events, pre and post-event programming and all original UFC programming.
Live UFC events will also be available on the Abu Dhabi Sports 4 television channel until the planned digital platforms are launched. These will give Abu Dhabi Media subscribers online access to all live UFC events as well as an array of content that will be accessible in Arabic language.
It is not yet decided if non-UFC content will also be available on the digital platforms. According to Abu Dhabi Media, more information will be available in the coming weeks.
With this partnership, Abu Dhabi Media has replaced UFCs previous partner in the region, Dubai-based pay-television broadcaster OSN.
