UKTV has announced the appointment of Kerry Waddell as head of production.
Waddell joins the broadcaster from Baby Cow Productions.
She will take up her new role in March and be responsible for the production of all UKTV Originals. Waddell will report to Richard Watsham, UKTVs Director of Commissioning.
Commenting on the appointment, Watsham said: We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Kerry on quality shows such as Red Dwarf, Undercover and Zapped. Her collaborative approach and the significant experience shes built up by working on some of the best-known shows in the UK, positions her perfectly for the kind of ambitious projects that we have coming down the line.
The scale of the role is growing constantly as we increase our spend and hours and commission across more genres than ever before. Kerry cant start soon enough!
On her new role, Waddell added: I join the UKTV family at an incredibly exciting time and cant wait to be part of the team that is investing in original programming at a record high.
