The United Nations Childrens Fund (UNICEF) and the Royal Film Commission (RFC) of Jordan have joined hands to organise screenings of educational and recreational films for Syrian children living in Zaatari camp.
The films that will include animation, documentary and fiction will be shown on selected Saturdays in the UNICEF/Save the Children child friendly spaces in Zaatari camp will give the viewers a real movie theatre screening experience.
The RFC and UNICEF staff will have discussions with the children after the screenings to give the little viewers a different perspective on issues.
These film screenings will greatly complement our efforts in supporting the camps children in communicating with their peers and encouraging them to express their own opinions, says UNICEFs representative in Jordan, Dominique Hyde.
Along with the basics such as food, water and shelter providing cultural and educational activities will help children to cope with their exceptional life circumstances.
