Bahraini director Saleh Nass short film Lubba (Game) will make its US debut as part of the official selection of short films at the Slamdance Film Festival 2013. The festival will run concurrently with the Sundance Film Festival, January 20-26, in Park City, Utah.
The festival, which has been in operation since 1995, receives more than 5000 submissions annually. The 2013 Slamdance Film Festival will showcase 40 short films including Nass Lubba .
I was in Feynan, Jordan taking photos on a rainy morning, struggling to find reception when I recieved the news explained Nass.
I felt honoured and excited to be chosen. This festival means a lot to me.
Lubba was filmed in Dubai and developed under the supervision of director Abbas Kiarostami.
A school boy is dropped off by his parents at yet another weekend football game in the local park where he faces a recurring reality of life. It was produced by Elements Cine Productions and premiered at the Gulf Film Festival.
Saleh is presently working on another film project.
