Ross Video has announced that VITEC has partnered with them to expand the use of the Emmy award-winning openGear signal processing platform. Created in 2006, openGear is the industry standard platform of choice for modular signal processing equipment. It is reportedly the worlds first modular platform open to other manufacturers, openGear provides solutions derived from hundreds of individual cards from dozens of companies. The platform was awarded a technical Emmy at the end of 2017.
Speaking about the partnership, Richard Bernard, Senior Product Manager at VITEC, said: VITEC is now part of the openGear platform and is excited to be a member of this modular ecosystem. The VITEC openGear IP decoder card is a perfect complement to our HEVC contribution solution where channel density and system reliability is paramount.
Nestor Amaya, Vice President, Signal Processing Gear at Ross Video, added: It is great to see this inaugural product from our newest partner VITEC which addresses a key application in compression and decompression. This is further proof that customers can rely on openGear as the industry platform of choice, with the best-in-class modules from the widest array of manufacturers, under our unified DashBoard control system. We congratulate VITEC on this new and innovative openGear product.
Ross Video will be exhibiting on booth SL1805 throughout NAB Show 2019.
