Retail company Majid Al Futtaim has opened its first VOX Cinemas location in Sharjah at City Centre Sharjah to coincide with Eid-Al Fitr.
Located in the new extension of the mall, the new VOX Cinemas multiplex has 12 screens reportedly making it the largest cinema in the Emirate. VOX Cinemas has included the MAX and KIDS concepts in the mix.
The KIDS screens features colourful seats and an adjoining party room.
The MAX concept features Dolby Atmos surround sound and dual projector systems with spacious interiors, the release stated.
VOX Cinemas is also planning to roll out GOLD by Rhodes screens with digital surround sound and in-cinema waiter service.
With 31 cinema complexes totaling 329 screens across the region, including 174 screens in the UAE, 15 screens in Lebanon, 47 screens in Oman, 30 screens in Bahrain, 28 screens in Egypt and 17 screens in Kuwait, VOX Cinemas is now reportedly the Middle Easts largest cinema exhibitor. Dubai-based Majid Al Futtaim has also announced plans to open 600 new Vox Cinema screens across Saudi Arabia over the next five years at an investment of $533 million (SR2 billion).
