The forum will highlight challenges posed by digitisation, the role of media in promoting soft power and monitoring development successes.
Al Ittihad newspaper, in collaboration with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), will hold a forum titled “The National Media in the Era of Digitalisation” on November 16.
Several journalists and specialists in media affairs will be attending the forum.
The forum will run in the pavilion of Abu Dhabi Media at the Global Media Congress, which will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, from November 15 to 17, 2022, organised by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), in cooperation with WAM.
The forum will highlight challenges posed by digitisation, the role of media in promoting soft power and monitoring development successes, and the importance of media’s messages to protecting the community, addressing related challenges, preparing communities for the future, and raising the awareness of youth.
Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director-General of WAM and Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the Global Media Congress, said: “The forum will coincide with the first edition of the Global Media Congress, which is an opportunity for national media organisations to foresee the sector’s advancement and exchange relevant views.”
Abdulraheem Al Bateeh Al Nuaimi, Acting General Manager at Abu Dhabi Media (ADM), added: “The forum will address the challenges facing the media sector, in light of the rapid developments in content creation.”
Hamad Al Kaabi, Editor-in-Chief of Al Ittihad Newspaper, stated: “The forum would discuss the current challenges facing the media industry related to technological advancement, as well as the key role of media outlets in supporting the country’s development plans and keeping pace with its overall future vision.”
The forum will also be attended by Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government; Dr Sultan Muhammad Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research; Dr Mohammad Al Ali, CEO and Founder of TRENDS Research and Advisory; Saudi writer Abdullah Nasser Al Otaibi; Nasreen Fakher, Editor-in-Chief of Majid Magazine; media affairs researcher Dr Najat Al Saeed, and Saudi writer and researcher Abdullah bin Bejad Al Otaibi.
