Chelsey Summey comes to Warners from Amazon MGM Studios, where she served as Head of Corporate Communications for the studio’s film group.
Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group has appointed Chelsey Summey as the Senior Vice President of Communications. In her new role, Summey will play a pivotal role in supporting the group’s internal communications and external media relations, covering Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema, and Warner Bros. Pictures Animation.
Reporting directly to Katie Martin Kelley, the Executive Vice President of Communications for Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, Summey brings a wealth of experience from her previous position as the Head of Corporate Communications for Amazon MGM Studios’ film group.
Speaking about the new appointment, Katie Martin Kelley said: “Chelsey is among the very best communication executives working in our industry today, and we are thrilled she is joining the Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group at a time when Michael DeLuca and Pam Abdy are continuing their commitment to theatrical, and we look towards the exciting slate ahead for the film division.”
Summey, who spent nearly a decade at 20th Century Fox, where she most recently served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications, has an impressive track record. Her responsibilities included overseeing media relations, executive communications, corporate events, talent relations, awards campaign strategy, and the daily operations of the global communications team. Summey also played a key role in developing and leading the studio’s crisis communications strategy.
During her time at Fox, Summey contributed to the success of acclaimed and blockbuster films such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Deadpool and Deadpool 2, The Greatest Showman, The Martian, The Revenant, Hidden Figures, Life of Pi, and the Ice Age franchise.
Prior to her tenure at Fox, Summey held various corporate communications and publicity roles at Paramount Pictures and Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
Summey will support the film group’s internal communications and external media relations, covering the brands Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema and the newly rebranded Warner Bros. Pictures Animation.
