The deal is an exclusive, multi-year agreement which makes Warner Bros. the home of Matt Reeves’ production company’s new television ventures.
Warner Bros. Television Group (WBTVG) has signed an overall deal with acclaimed writer/producer/director Matt Reeves and his 6th & Idaho production company.
While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, WBTVG confirmed that it is an exclusive, multi-year agreement that makes it the home for 6th & Idaho’s new television ventures. This is the first overall deal for
with WBTVG.
6th & Idaho also announced that television/film producer Daniel Pipski has joined the company as its new Executive Vice President and Head of Television.
Under the WBTVG deal, Reeves and the 6th & Idaho team — which also includes Executive Vice President Adam Kassan and Vice President Rafi Crohn — will develop new television programming for all platforms, including HBO Max, on-demand/streaming services, premium/pay and basic cable channels, the broadcast networks, and more.
The projects will be produced in association with Warner Bros. Television, Warner Horizon Scripted Television, Warner Bros. Animation or Blue Ribbon Content, depending on the platform. Beyond the US, Warner Bros. International Television Distribution will distribute 6th & Idaho’s shows to the global marketplace.
Commenting on the deal, Daniel Pipski said: “Matt has been making some of my favourite movies and TV shows since I was addicted to ‘Felicity,’ and it’s a thrill to get to be part of his great team alongside Rafi and Adam, building up his TV company with our partners at WBTV.”
Reeves is currently at the helm of The Batman feature film, which will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures in October 2021. He previously directed and co-wrote War for the Planet of the Apes and directed Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Additional theatrical motion picture credits include writing and directing Let Me In, directing Cloverfield and executive producing 10 Cloverfield Lane and The Cloverfield Paradox.
