The new paid service, which comes in the form of premium monthly or weekly subscription plans, is available for users in the region.
Zee Entertainment’s first Arabic Video-On-Demand streaming application, Weyyak, which was previously an AVOD service, has been relaunched as a paid subscription service for all users outside MENA. In MENA, viewers may choose between a free AVOD option or a paid, ad-free SVOD option. The latter will cost USD 1.5 weekly and $5 monthly.
The platform has previously been offering its extensive library of series and movies to users as part of a free service that comes with ad breaks.
The new paid service, which comes in the form of premium monthly or weekly subscription plans, is now available for those who would like to watch their favourite shows and movies continuously without interruptions. Additionally, there will be a diverse collection of premium Arabic-language, Bollywood and Turkish-language content available to subscribers as an exclusive addition.
As a freemium platform, Weyyak will still be available for free to users residing in the Middle East or North Africa, giving them the choice to continue enjoying Weyyak without the need to subscribe. However, for users living outside of these regions, the only available package is the premium subscription.
Future updates will focus on adding more exclusive prime content to the paid service, as well as providing subscribers with more options when it comes to choosing their preferred payment method.
Commenting on the new service, Nadine Samra, Chief Business Officer, Weyyak.com, Zee Entertainment said: “In our efforts to give the Arabic audience the best experience, we have released the subscription package to view the content ad-free and enjoy multiple add on benefits. Outside MENA and for the rest of the world, Weyyak is only available behind a paywall, ad-free. We are looking to impact our business positively through the subscription release.”
