Since its official launch on August 25, 2022, 1,000 WOLFStars have registered and performed in the metaverse.
WOLF has announced that it will produce over 10,000 live performances in October from its WOLFStars programme, which helps bring user-generated entertainment to the metaverse.
This month, as the brand presents in the Creative Economy area of Gitex, the performance-based app revealed that since the official launch of its talent development programme on August 25, 1,000 WOLFStars have registered.
WOLF is a performance-based metaverse experience that is built for the MENA region, offering festival shows and friendship opportunities in online 3D worlds. The brand is soon to launch its WOLF VR app on Oculus and other VR headset app stores.
As real and virtual worlds merge, both celebrities and WOLFStars have created 3D metaverse videos of themselves to share afterwards on social media. GCC content creators such as Ta7oo and Sirsan have been sharing videos of themselves performing in the metaverse and contributing to a combined 1m+ views of their show highlight clips.
WOLF, or the World’s Online Festival, is a popular destination for content creators, singers, poets, comedians, chat-show hosts and rappers who joined the platform to showcase their talent. So far there are currently over 500 WOLFStars creating regular podcast-style talk shows in Arabic across the app.
The appeal for the 1,000 Arabic talents that have currently signed up for the programme, is that they are given access to enthusiastic audiences and are able to form part of a community to get real-time feedback and earn cash and other rewards. As part of the WOLFStars programme some WOLFStars emerging talents have been able to earn as much as $130+ per show, generating $1,750+ per month for themselves as part of the metaverse creator economy, clearly aligning WOLF with the UAE’s Metaverse Strategy.
Gary Knight, CEO of WOLF, said: “We have been blown away by the success of our WOLFStars programme, as we have welcomed over 1,000 content creators to WOLF, who will produce over 10,000 shows in October, viewed by our highly engaged audiences. Since its inception, as well as supporting emerging performers, WOLF has collaborated with renowned Arab personalities including Aseel Hameem, Bashayer Alsabah, Fay Alssharqawi, Nedaa Sharara, Danyah Shafei, and Lebanese pop superstar Yara. It is our ability to combine Arab talents with an engaged online audience to create the first digital festival experience where users have complete creative control that sets WOLF apart.”
Farah Abdul Hamed, Arab Media Personality, Content Creator, and Senior TV Presenter, commented: “I didn’t expect the reach, loyalty, and fun interaction with fans in WOLF, as a media personality and creator. I have established direct communication with various fans and audiences from all over the world through WOLF virtual festivals and events. In particular, connecting with those who are interested to know more about the other side of the entertainment industry from a media professional. WOLF’s strategy for supporting and developing emerging content creators will have a big impact in enabling them to step into the metaverse.”
Fadi Fattal, Singer and Content Creator, added: “Without WOLF, I wouldn’t have the creative freedom that I need to grow as an artist. As a content creator and singer, WOLF makes performing easy while also empowering me with the tools I need to pursue a career in the creative economy. With the help of the WOLFStars programme, I have been able to progress commercially but also join a supportive and interactive community of Arabic fans and content creators.”
