Yahlive has signed a long-term agreement with the Committee for Television and Radio under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to broadcast six Tajikistan government-run channels across its East Beam covering the Middle East and South West Asia.
This latest tie-up will see the addition of six popular Tajik-language channels covering news and entertainment including Tojikiston, Safina, Bahoriston, Jahonnamo, Sinamo and TV Varzish.
Commenting on the recent signing, Sami Boustany, CEO of Yahlive said: We are delighted to be working with the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to broadcast Tajikistan channels as part of our fast-growing platform. We look forward to catering to the preferences of the Tajik community which is a new addition to the network of communities we cater to.
The government channels are an extremely important source of news and entertainment for the Tajik community. In recent years, we have seen exceptional popularity for our East Beam service, providing high quality free-to-air Farsi content of which the Tajik language is a variety as we commit to meeting the needs of regional audiences, he added.
Yahlive already caters to a vast Tajik audience, with a viewership of 2 million through its existing bouquet of Farsi-language channels. This will now increase to a viewership of 6.5 million through a combination of viewers directly receiving Yahlive channels, or via terrestrial TV channels where the network uses a Yahlive feed exclusively.
