In a bid to support the local community, Al Yah Satellite Communications Company PrJSC (Yahsat), a private joint stock company fully owned by Mubadala, in partnership with the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs (ZHO), organised a fun day for ZHO children and Yahsat employees.
The children were invited to Yahsat for a tour of the facility; enabling them to learn more about the field of science and technology. The days activities also included practical science experiments at the Yahsat HQ in Abu Dhabi followed by an outing to the Ferrari World theme park.
The educational event was organised by Yahsats social committee in an effort to engage and educate the children, on satellite technology, giving them a glimpse of a career they could one day have.
Commenting on the event, Sara Al Harbi, a member of the social committee said: Giving back and supporting causes that go right to the heart of the community is a core part of Yahsats values. I am proud of our team for actively participating in this worthwhile cause and hope we were able to touch the lives of each individual who attended. It is important for organisations to help better the lives of those less fortunate especially with the holy month of Ramadan right at our door steps.
ZHO supports children with special needs in addition to housing orphans. To learn more about the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, log on to their website: http://www.zho.ae/English/Pages/home.aspx
