Tickets are on sale for the VidCon Abu Dhabi event, which will feature local and international digital superstars.
YouTube has signed on as the title sponsor for the debut edition of VidCon Abu Dhabi, which is set to take place from December 3 – 6 2021, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
With this sponsorship, YouTube continues to support the diverse creator communities in the Middle East and North Africa and will leverage VidCon’s audience of influential local and international digital content creators, fans, and industry leaders as they gather in one place for an immersive and interactive experience that shapes today’s online community.
Taking place in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), VidCon has announced a list of more than 90 Featured Creators, many of whom are YouTube stars and are participating for the first-time including Ossy Marwah, Rozzah, Banen Stars, Thunayyan Khalid, Meera Stars, Amr Maskoun, Yara Aziz, WessamQ, and many more.
VidCon General Manager Jim Louderback said: “We are delighted to announce long-time VidCon partner YouTube as the title sponsor of VidCon Abu Dhabi, as we bring VidCon to the Middle East for the first time. It gives us the opportunity to celebrate the continually evolving creator economy, strengthening our relationships with incredible new creators, communities, and fans emerging on the powerful and popular video sharing platform. VidCon is a must-attend event for anybody involved in the online video community, which aims to encourage more creators and innovators from the MENA region to showcase their creativity. Our goal is to ensure an amazing lineup of keynote sessions, performances, exclusive programming, and a diverse and exciting new batch of top and emerging creators that will excite the youth in this region.”
As the title sponsor, YouTube will provide local and international creators with the opportunity to further expand their digital presence on a global platform. By bringing in its expertise, top talent, and executives to participate in all three of VidCon’s signature tracks (Community, Creator, and Industry), YouTube will deliver the keynote address, sponsor key areas of the event space and Arena stage, and more.
Tarek Amin, Director of YouTube in the Middle East and North Africa, added: “We cannot wait for VidCon Abu Dhabi. One of the greatest things about my job is seeing the impact YouTube creators have on their communities, whether it’s by making people laugh or teaching them something new. VidCon will bring us all together for the first time in two years to celebrate the incredible creator community here in the Middle East and North Africa. This year was a busy one for YouTube MENA, we launched YouTube Shorts, YouTube Batala, and hosted a series of events designed to uplift and support creators on our platform. VidCon is the perfect cherry on top of what has been an important year for us all.”
Organisers are working closely with ADNEC, the National Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) and DCT Abu Dhabi to ensure a positive and COVID-safe VidCon experience.
