The fifth edition of the the Zayed University Middle East Film Festival (ZUMEFF) competition has received more than 100 entries for five competition categories, the Abu Dhabi-based university announced in a statement. The festival will begin on May 6.
The five categories in the competition include Best of the Best, Best Narrative, Best Documentary, Honorable Mentions, and ZUMEFF New York Film Academy Aspiring Filmmaker Award.
I am very pleased and happy that we received more than 100 film submissions this year, commented Sascha Ritter, Assistant Professor in Communication and Media Sciences college at ZU.
We even received some submissions from Arab students in the US, Germany, Italy, Canada and England.
Last year, the festival screened more than 40 films.
