Khoj, shot in Punjab and the UK, will be available in both Punjabi & English languages to a global audience.
ZEE5 has announced the launch of its next original, Khoj. The short film, scheduled for telecast on January 13, will be available in both Punjabi & English languages to a global audience. Khoj has been directed by Kajri Babbar and has been shot in Punjab and the UK.
Speaking about the launch, Archana Anand, Chief Business Officer ZEE5 Global said: At ZEE5 were always looking for story lines that are unique, have depth and create a strong connect with our audiences. Khoj is one such film that embodies all these aspects and more. We are thrilled to add Khoj to our huge content bouquet and take it to our audiences across global markets.
Khoj premiered at the 2018 edition of Cannes Film Festival and was also a semi-finalist at The Student Academy Awards 2018.
Offering an insight into the story, Director Kajri Babbar added: “After researching extensively on it, I was shocked on learning that the issue of wife-abandonment is deep-rooted and widespread; in fact, this has increased dramatically after Brexit and the decline in the British economy. Most of these girls are teenagers. Khoj is my attempt to throw light on such unacceptable and unspoken issues and I am glad ZEE5 joined hands with us to showcase our effort to the world.”
