Positioned as a budget-friendly product for both cine and broadcast markets, the first customer shipments of the 360 EVO and upgrades for SRH-360 owners are set to commence in Q1 2024.
ARRI has introduced the 360 EVO, its latest top-of-the-line stabilised remote head, as an evolution from the successful SRH-360. This system boasts 360-degree rotation on both the roll and pan axes, an enhanced and robust design, and seamless integration with remote systems. The 360 EVO shares a new graphical user interface (GUI) and various accessories with the TRINITY 2, creating a seamlessly integrated lineup of hard and soft-mounted stabiliser options.
Building on the creative potential explored by operators with the TRINITY 2, the 360 EVO brings the same 360-degree rotation on the roll axis to a three-axis stabilised remote head. This advancement opens up new possibilities for dramatic shots in genres such as dramas, commercials, and music videos. Dynamic roll-axis shots can be further enhanced by mounting the head to a crane or cable cam, offering versatility for live broadcast events.
Running on the same software platform as the TRINITY 2, the 360 EVO features a touchscreen remote control panel with an intuitive GUI. Compatibility is extended with shared cables, brackets, and SAM plates for mounting different cameras. The system can be controlled using familiar tools, including ARRI’s Digital Remote Wheels DRW-1 and the new Digital Encoder Head DEH-2. This synergy allows TRINITY 2 users to seamlessly transition to the 360 EVO without doubling up on accessories or undergoing new workflow training. The integrated approach not only benefits professionals by expanding their service offerings but also contributes to increased workdays and reduced setup times, enhancing overall production efficiency.
The 360 EVO includes LBUS connectivity for streamlined digital and metadata workflows. Its new software and GUI are strategically designed for future integration with Unreal Engine, facilitating virtual production. The system’s plug-and-play control over the internet will be achievable through an authorised repeater cloud service, ensuring exceptional flexibility in control options.
With features like remote system integration, 360-degree roll-axis rotation, a payload capacity of up to 30 kg, compact dimensions, versatile connectivity, high-capacity 12/24 V camera power supply, and rock-steady stabilisation even at long focal lengths, the 360 EVO offers a price-performance ratio.
First customer shipments of the 360 EVO and upgrades for SRH-360 owners will begin in Q1 2024.
