At BroadcastAsia 2016, Aspera will showcase its latest high-speed transfer innovations for live streaming, collaboration and workflow automation.
Aspera FASPStream is a new turnkey application software line that represents the first open video transport solution for live streaming of broadcast-quality video over commodity Internet networks with glitch-free playout and negligible start-up time reducing the need for expensive and limited satellite-based backhaul, transport and distribution.
FASPStream software uses Asperas FASP bulk data protocol to transport any live video source (local multicast, unicast UDP, TCP, or growing file source) and provides timely arrival of live video and data independent of network round-trip delay and packet loss. Less than five seconds of start-up delay is required for 50 Mbps video streams transported over 250 milliseconds round-trip latency and three percent packet loss, sufficient for 4K streaming between continents. The solution delivers exceptional video quality, is interoperable with all common stream providers and receivers, secure with encryption in transit and built-in access control policies, and completely interoperable with file-based workflows.
Aspera Files is an innovative new SaaS platform used by customers including MLBAM, Digital Media Services, BASE Media Cloud to accelerate and simplify their digital media workflows. Aspera will showcase multiple new capabilities to the high-speed large data exchange solution.
Built on Aspera FASP technology, Aspera Files transforms cloud-based content sharing and collaboration by eliminating the problems of sharing large files and large directories with fast and secure transfer of even the largest content and associated metadata directly from its native storage environment (on premises or in cloud). A multi-tenant SaaS solution running on IBM Cloud, Files is easy to use and instantly available, transfers at maximum speed in predictable time, and offers a rich set of capabilities for sharing, distributing and managing large content. New capabilities on display include integration with Aspera Drive, a new Files Mobile application, and integration with the Aspera Desktop Client.
Aspera Orchestrator 2.5 workflow orchestration platform now has over 150 third-party plug-ins, including new plugins for Dalet, Xytech, SGL FlashNet, Marquis, Emotion, ShowMgr, ARRIS CMM, DATDV, Snell, Fortium, Ateme, Minnetonka, MOG, and Baton. Enhancements to the Designer provide step-wise versioning and yield faster execution, while new Activity and Statistics screens show visual progress of every executing workflow and historical analytics.
Aspera Virtual Catcher (AVC) is a new application that works in conjunction with Aspera Cargo or Point to Point through a set of purpose-built workflows combined with configuration and status screens for ensuring pitched packages are completely received, validated and handed off to the recipients content management system (CMS). AVC validates received files with the ADI 1.1 specification and passes the content via direct API integration with leading CMS systems.
The entire suite of Aspera products will be on display at the Aspera booth, 5G4-08.
