AES67-compatible wireless transceiver doubles beltpack-support capacity and extends the reach of FreeSpeak II wireless beltpack users.
Clear-Com will showcase the FreeSpeak II IP Transceiver (IPT) as a Technology Demonstration. The IP Transceiver is one of two product debuts based on Clear-Coms new IP Platform solution, featuring AES67 compatibility, low-latency signal distribution, high performance audio routing with high audio bandwidth. FreeSpeak II wireless beltpacks can now be addressed across a users LAN. Additional enhancements include support for a higher density of users per transceiver. Existing FreeSpeak II beltpacks may be upgraded to work with the IPT through a simple firmware update.
All transceivers are connected to an AES67 IP-router and to the Eclipse HX system fitted with Clear-Coms E-IPA high density audio-and-intercom-over IP system card. Each E-IPA cardalso native AES67 based– provides up to 64 ports of IP connections which supports 64 IPTs. The IPT Transceiver can be powered from a PoE switch or local power source. Direct fibre connection is also available on each IPT.
With the addition of the new IP Transceivers, FreeSpeak II users now have even more options with their wireless solution than any other system on the market, said Simon Browne, Vice President of Clear-Com. Today, FreeSpeak II operates on 1.9Ghz and 2.4GHz bands over fibre connections. By allowing the IP Transceivers to connect over AES IP networks, we have enhanced FreeSpeak IIs flexibility, providing an additional option for addressing customers ever-shifting intercom requirements.
Existing FreeSpeak II beltpacks can be made compatible with the IPT through a simple firmware upgrade, eliminating the need for costly replacements, the company claims.
The FSII IP Transceiver will be available to view on Clear-Coms Booth 4Q4-01, together with a wide range of Clear-Coms trusted communication solutions.
