Spanning the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking markets in content broadcasting and distributing, Hispasat has increased its geographical expansion and launched the Hispasat 1E, a powerful Ku-band Fixed Satellite Services (FSS) and Broadcast Satellite Services (BSS) spacecraft.
Providing high-quality capacity for Hispasat’s new initiatives which include Direct to Home television (DTH), Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), value added broadband services in mobile, land and maritime environments, and high definition television (HDTV), the satellite services spacecraft is located at 30 degrees West longitude, where it coverage North Africa, Europe and the Americas.
With 53 high-power Ku-band transponders and also 1 ka-band transpoder, Hispasat 1E is based on the Space Systems/Loral 1300 space-proven platform which is designed with the flexibility to support a broad range of applications and technology advances.
Hispasat has more than 1,150 television channels and radio stations, including content from such important digital platforms as Direct to Home television (DTH) and High-Definition television (HDTV). The Group is the communications bridge between Europe and the Americas.
