Among the Neumann solutions installed at Hit Records' studio are studio monitors, headphones, and microphones.
German studio specialist Neumann.Berlin has provided Hit Records with the latest audio equipment at its Dubai-based studio. The implementation includes the widely used Neumann U 87 studio microphone.
Established in 2016, Hit Records is owned and operated by Basil Al-Hashimi, who is an industry veteran of over 28 years, and an accomplished music arranger and pianist. Among artists who frequently record at this studio is superstar Arabic singer and composer, Majid al-Muhandis.
Commenting on how his vision for the studio prompted his decision to select the solutions from Neumann, Al-Hashimi said: “Hit Records is an international studio, in that we cater to both regional and Western artists. To appeal to this broad demographic, we have strategically selected world-class equipment that can meet all the recording needs of artists – no matter their genre of music. We are increasingly seeing artists become more particular about the equipment offered, and a number of our clients have specifically requested the U 87. With its legacy and continued market dominance, this microphone remains the ‘gold standard’ for our industry.”
Through the product selection and studio design phases, Al-Hashimi was guided by the team from Sennheiser Middle East. Over an extended period, members of Sennheiser’s regional team, including Fadi Costantine, Technical Sales Manager at Sennheiser Middle East, conducted in-depth demos and then helped commission and fine-tune the set-up. Sharing details on this process, Costantine added, “Installing the KH 420 monitors in the wall was the main challenge, and we were able to do so by offering accessories that put the amplifier out of the speakers. As with all implementations in the region, our commitment is to compliment the industry-leading solutions we provide, with a level of service that’s truly world-class.”
The set of Neumann solutions implemented at Hit Records’ studio includes Neumann’s KH 420, KH 310 and KH 80 DSP monitors, NDH 20 studio headphones and M 149 Tube microphone.
“I advise all my fellow artists, music arrangers and musicians to try Neumann products,” concluded Al-Hashimi.
