Ikegami Electronics (Europe) is set to demonstrate a comprehensive broadcast media production system at CABSAT 2024, taking place from May 21 to 23 in Dubai. Key highlights of the exhibit include the UHK-X700 IP-capable UHD HDR HFR camera, the 4K-ready Full-HD HDR HDK-99, the helicopter-mountable UHL-F4000 UHD HDR camera, and the HQLM-3120W 4K/HD wide colour gamut production monitor.
Abdul Ghani, General Manager, Ikegami Middle East, said: “The emphasis of our CABSAT 2024 exhibit will be on the robust build, high signal quality and great operational flexibility of our cameras, controllers and monitors. We will also be showing the ease with which Ikegami systems integrate into a coordinated workflow for studio, OB, EFP and ENG applications in 1080i, 1080p and 4K-UHD production standards. Ikegami systems are available for use in SDI, IP and hybrid operating environments. Licence key options for various products in the range give customers the freedom to add extra capabilities such as 4K-UHD or high-frame-rate image capture as or when required.”
The UHK-X700, designed for pedestal, tripod, or shoulder-mounted operation, features three 2/3-inch CMOS UHD sensors with a global shutter to minimise artifacts when shooting LED screens or scenes illuminated with flash or strobe lighting. Weighing only 5 kg, it includes a B4 lens mount and offers an optical sensitivity of F11 at 4K-UHD/50p. Full HDR/SDR support and options for BT.2020 and BT.709 chroma spaces are also provided.
High-frame-rate shooting is available at up to 2x speed in UHD or up to 8x in HD via the Ikegami BSX-100 base station. Combining the Ikegami BSX-100 base station or CCU-X100 camera control unit with the UHK-X700 allows simultaneous UHD and HD video output. The IP interface for video, audio, and intercom I/O conforms to SMPTE ST 2110 standards, available as an option at the BSX-100 or CCU-X100. Additionally, UHD video can be sourced as a 12G-SDI feed directly from the camera head, allowing for integration into wireless systems.
Ikegami’s HDK-99, a docking-style camera for portable and studio applications, employs three 2.6 megapixel CMOS image sensors delivering high picture quality in HDR at 1920 x 1080 resolution with progressive-scan. Processed 4K can be sourced from the camera control unit. HLG mode maintains the high contrast required for HDR and conforms to the ITU-R BT.2100 international standard. The camera has a noise level of less than -62 dB and a sensitivity of F11.
The HDK-99 supports various frame rates natively, including 1080p/59.94, 1080p/50, 1080i/59.94, 1080i/50, 720p/59.94, and 720p/50, with options for low frame rates such as 1080p/29.97, 1080p/25, and 1080p/23.98. It includes a lens aberration correction function to minimise resolution loss and colour edging, and Quick EZ Focus Assist to enhance the viewfinder signal, facilitating critical focus adjustments. The viewfinder’s area size, colour, edge colour, and display time are adjustable via the camera menu.
The UHL-F4000, a compact and lightweight UHD HDR camera, is designed for applications like helicopter-mounted aerial video capture under various conditions. It features three UHD CMOS global shutter sensors for natural images free of geometric distortion and flash band effects. Image adjustment capabilities include noise removal, digital zoom, haze reduction, image sharpening, vertical image reversal, and HD-from-UHD segment selection. A duplex optical fiber connection allows communication between the camera head and CCU up to 10 km apart, with 12-volt DC power being the only additional requirement.
The Ikegami HQLM-3120W is a 31-inch 4K/HD wide colour gamut production monitor equipped with two 12G-SDI input channels for efficient integration with 4K equipment. It also features 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and HDMI inputs. The monitor uses a 4096 x 2160 pixel UHD LCD panel with LED backlight, offering a 1500:1 contrast ratio and 178-degree horizontal/vertical viewing angles. Integral features include waveform monitoring, vectorscope, vertical interval timecode display, closed-caption monitoring, and 5.1-channel surround-sound down-mix output.
