At IBC, MAYAH launched FM Radio to MPEG TS Transcoder, a cost saving solution to provide local data over IP networks.
German audio and video codec manufacturer MAYAH Communications showcased its FM Radio to MPEG TS Transcoder / Converter, which is based on the new generation audio codec CENTAURI III 4000.
With the FM Radio to MPEG TS Converter option for CENTAURI III MAYAH provides an affordable, efficient, space and cost saving solution for cable network operators willing to deliver any local radio programs to their customers. Up to 8 programmes can be received, encoded and streamed with one 2RU device.
Demodulated signal as well as the RDS data is transferred digitally to the MPEG encoder and then streamed out at the dedicated streaming IP interface.
For audio compression, the industry standards are supported by the Converter: MPEG-1 Layer 2, MPEG-4 AAC or HE-AACv2. For IP transport, a variety of protocols can be used: from the DVB compliant MPEG TS to ISMA compliant or plain UDP/RTP. For MPEG TS, MAYAH provides any combination of Single Programme or Multiple Programme Streams.
An efficient hardware platform of the new generation audio codec, CENTAURI III allows the high density rack installations with the best security possibilities, thanks to redundant power supply option and always available dual IP interface for separate control and streaming.
Set-up of all parameters is relatively easy.
