Virtuoso SoniX will be showcased at the NAB Show in Las Vegas.
Nevion has introduced Virtuoso SoniX, a high-density converter designed to facilitate audio signal conversion between AES3/Analog and MADI. This new addition enhances the integration of audio sources with the Virtuoso media node, which provides extensive audio processing capabilities through its Tune functionality.
As a key component of Sony’s Networked Live ecosystem, Nevion Virtuoso is widely deployed for real-time signal transport, processing and monitoring. One of its core features, Tune, offers advanced audio processing, including flexible routing, mono shuffling and per-channel control of polarity, gain, delay and mixing. While Virtuoso can handle a large number of audio signals, physical interface limitations for non-IP-based inputs and outputs have posed challenges.
Virtuoso SoniX addresses this limitation by offering a cost-effective solution for interfacing analogue and digital audio signals, along with GPI, to Virtuoso. With its optical interface and near-silent operation, the unit can be positioned in low-noise environments, away from other processing equipment.
Available in three configurations, Virtuoso SoniX supports up to 64 inputs/outputs, catering to digital-only, analog-only or mixed audio setups. Additionally, it features 16 isolated GPI interfaces, which are embedded into the MADI audio stream.
Steve Hard, Product Director, Virtuoso at Nevion said: “Virtuoso Tune has established itself as a leader in the audio processing market, both for radio and TV applications. The Virtuoso SoniX add-on is a simple and very cost-effective way of interfacing many audio signals with Virtuoso to leverage the latter’s powerful audio processing capabilities. It is already generating a lot of interest amongst our customers.”
Virtuoso SoniX will be on show at the NAB Show (Las Vegas, 6-9 April, 2025), in the Networked Live area of Sony’s booth.
