Turkish manufacturer Onair Medya has introduced its FT4K, the 4 KW FM transmitter.
The transmitter boasts a 25W exciter, a 4KW power amplifier and a rack mounting cabinet.
FT4K owes its efficiency to the LDMOS transistor from Ampleon (NXP) as is designed with 4pcs BLF178XR transistors. LDMOS transistors present a good resistance against antenna reflections and high efficiency, which reduces the heating of the amplifier. It also boasts a DDS modulator in the exciter.
The transmitter has digital and analogue audio inputs (L&R, AES/EBU, MPX, IP) and an automatic change over system. In case of losing the current audio feed, it switches to the other audio input.
FT4K has built-in RDS, programmable from the front keys of the exciter or via RS232 connecting a computer.
FT4K has a GPIO switch, which runs an air-conditioner when the room temperature or humidity reaches the prescribed limit in order to save energy.
