The company's encoders and decoders now support a wide range of industry-supported formats, including SRT, Zixi, and RIST.
Open Broadcast Systems has announced the release of a high-performance SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) implementation integrated into its encoders and decoders. The implementation has been developed entirely in-house, leveraging modern software-development techniques to ensure optimal functionality.
This strategic move enables Open Broadcast Systems to seamlessly connect SDI (Serial Digital Interface) and ST-2110 environments on the ground with cloud processing environments utilising the SRT protocol. The addition of SRT support complements the company’s existing support for Zixi and RIST, providing customers with a versatile array of industry-supported formats to choose from.
The SRT implementation has undergone extensive testing to ensure interoperability with a variety of third-party products, assuring customers of a reliable and streamlined integration into their existing workflows.
Kieran Kunhya, Founder and CEO of Open Broadcast Systems, said: “Many content providers are using the SRT protocol to send and receive video over the internet. By creating a highly sophisticated in-house implementation, we are able to provide the highest reliability possible for our customers.”
The SRT implementation is now available and ready to ship to customers.
