Pebble offers an enterprise automation and integrated channel solution that supports SDI, SMPTE ST2110, and NDI sources and feeds, all within a single server.
Pebble, the automation, content management and integrated channel specialist, will demonstrate Automation 2.0, the latest generation of its software platform, at CABSAT 2024. This advanced platform is already in use by major broadcasters across the Middle East.
This software platform caters to a range of needs, from single channels to numerous concurrent channels, while delivering full functionality for premium services.
Pebble’s architecture is designed to accommodate broadcasters who prefer assembling playout systems using best-of-breed components from various vendors, as well as those transitioning to IP with all-in-one playout engines, or a mix of both. To meet these diverse requirements, Pebble offers enterprise automation and a versatile integrated channel solution that supports SDI, SMPTE ST2110, and NDI sources and feeds, all within a single server.
Speaking about the playout automation, Samir Isbaih, VP of Sales Middle East and APAC for Pebble, said: “Our users – including more than 40 broadcasters in the MENA region – depend on our software for the mission-critical work of channel playout and content management. We are constantly listening to our customers, and they are telling us they have two key concerns: hybrid deployments (on-premise and cloud) and security. That is where we focused our R&D investment in developing Pebble Automation 2.0.”
Most broadcasters are exploring hybrid implementations for playout. Many prefer maintaining primary facilities on-premises, while backup and disaster recovery shift to private data centres or the public cloud. Achieving maximum cost efficiency in this setup requires advanced architectures, incorporating the latest technology and software design standards in the media industry.
Moreover, systems involving communications between on-premise and cloud environments necessitate stringent security protocols to minimise cyber-threat risks to broadcast channels.
Introduced in 2023, Pebble Automation 2.0 has been received well by the industry and is shortlisted for the coveted BroadcastPro Middle East Awards – Best in Broadcast Playout – to be presented at CABSAT.
Samir Isbaih added: “Playout solutions from Pebble are seen as a stable, safe choice by the major broadcasters in the region, while modern, extremely flexible and feature-rich. We are dedicated to our solutions, to provide the best security, redundancy and the highest reliability. We are also heavily invested in the region, with a growing team of expert engineers based in the UAE providing project management, project implementation and after-sale support to ensure the most effective solutions are designed, installed, handed over, and supported through the life cycle of the system.”
