Skyline Communications is launching DataMiner 7.0, the latest version of its multi-vendor network management platform, slated for release later this year.
DataMiner 7.0 brings a new user-centric metro-style UI, a new cutting-edge inventory & asset management solution, DataMiner Maps for interaction with third party map solutions such as Google Maps, new mobile clients for smartphones and a new open-architecture scheduling solution. It also enables operators around the globe to manage their operational ecosystem end-to-end across vendor and technology boundaries.
The solution is currently integrated with more than 2.000 devices and systems from more than 350 industry suppliers, and is guaranteed to interface with any product from any vendor, resulting in an end-to-end perspective.
DataMiner provides a single interface to manage complex studio systems, digital video headends, regional headends, distribution and transmission networks. DataMiner is used in more than 60 countries world-wide by hundreds of operators to manage complex and high-tech infrastructures.
Speaking about Dataminer, Ben Vandenberghe, sales and marketing director at Skyline Communications commented: With DataMiner we have a very strong reputation of redefining how operators interact with their operational ecosystems, and to enable them to manage their operations more efficiently than ever before. And with DataMiner 7.0 we are very determined to continue to push the boundaries,.
The DataMiner Inventory & Asset Management add-on will also be showcased. The solution features open architecture, based on industry standard components. DataMiner IAM provides user-definable asset reporting capabilities and audit trailing. It can integrate and leverage existing CMDB platforms, and features full-fledged user-definable interaction with the live environment through the DataMiner network management platform.
The DataMiner IAM solution features a full integration with the DataMiner correlation engines, service and SLA management layer, resulting in intelligent management of complex ecosystems such as digital video headends, play-out facilities, VSAT systems, terrestrial transmission networks, contribution networks and satellite carrier management applications.
DataMiner CPE Manager platform
Skyline will also showcase the latest version of the DataMiner CPE Manager platform. This solution enables operators to collect large amounts of service quality and availability data across their entire deployed base of CPE devices such as set-top boxes and cable or DSL modems, and to intelligently correlate this against a multi-dimensional user-defined system model to pinpoint any operational issues with surgical precision.
This solution has been further expanded, amongst other leveraging DOCSIS3.0 capabilities, and is now also combined with the integration of third party transport stream analysers. The latter enables operators to manage their service delivery chain with any type of probe, and to get an unprecedented comprehensive overview from service acquisition to service delivery.
