Zattoo’s Principal Product Manager Aaron Dey will also be demonstrating the solution on the Innovation Stage on September 14.
Zattoo, Europe’s major provider of TV Streaming and TV-as-a-Service solutions, is set to debut its Stream API at IBC 2024, offering a suite of applications and services designed to transform how developers and operators create and deliver cutting-edge streaming experiences. The company will showcase these innovations at the Content Everywhere Hall 5 throughout the four-day event.
Leveraging over two decades of technical expertise and the success of its fully managed IPTV, OTT and TV-as-a-Service offerings, Zattoo’s Stream API empowers users to swiftly build, launch and scale next-generation streaming solutions. This suite of tools and services enables the rapid translation of requirements into exceptional user experiences with ease.
Bert Schulzki, Zattoo’s Chief Product and Technology Officer, said: “Technology is evolving as budgets are being squeezed and customer development teams face huge challenges. Many need to re-build and re-platform, with more devices and fewer resources. They must re-think their approach, become methodical, leverage multipliers and avoid pitfalls. We have the technology and the skills to help them.”
Stream API is designed to meet the complex demands of modern streaming. A key feature is the server-side ad insertion (SSAI) Advertising API, which offers dynamic ad substitution for live and on-demand content, creating new revenue streams through easily configurable campaigns, supported by Zattoo’s European ad sales team.
The platform delivers high-quality, fast, reliable and secure multi-bitrate streams for Live TV, FAST channels and On-Demand content, using a carrier-grade, fully managed head-end and an extensive European content distribution network.
Additionally, Zattoo will soon introduce a multimedia Playback SDK, simplifying playback, DRM, telemetry and configuration across various platforms. Real-time video analytics, provided by the Playback Telemetry feature, offer deep insights into playback events, allowing developers to fine-tune their services with precision. The upcoming Playback Test Automation tool will further enhance the platform by automating testing across multiple devices, ensuring consistent performance and rapid issue resolution during development and maintenance.
Zattoo aims to foster a strategically curated B2B partner ecosystem to drive industry growth.
Schulzki added: “Two of the biggest challenges our industry faces are mastering complexity and the rapid pace of technological evolution. Deciding which technologies to incorporate, what to build, and what to buy for long-term viability is crucial. Achieving a clear separation of concerns through a flexible, modular, maintainable, and scalable architecture is essential and incorporating a TV-as-a-Service (SaaS) API is an effective solution that can bring significant benefits. We look forward to welcoming visitors to our stand at IBC 2024, so they can experience this groundbreaking technology firsthand.”
Visitors to IBC 2024 can experience Stream API firsthand at Zattoo’s stand, as well as at its partner stand, Media Distillery 5.H75. Additionally, Zattoo’s Principal Product Manager Aaron Dey will demonstrate the solution on the Innovation Stage on September 14 at 12:15 pm.
