BlackSky, Inmarsat and Addvalue accelerate EO with IDRS
Addvalue has designed a new Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite antenna system that allows full communications coverage when satellites are not in view of a ground station.
Addvalue has designed a new Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite antenna system that allows full communications coverage when satellites are not in view of a ground station.
Addvalues IDRS solution is designed to deliver an on-demand data connection service for orbital transfer vehicles docking with an orbiting spacecraft.
The cooperation will explore communications between Fast Pixel Networks Earth Observation-based in LEO and Inmarsats communication satellite network in GEO.
A test campaign was done by the EO-ALERT consortium independently to demonstrate and validate the EO-ALERT concept together with modelling the IDRS link in flight.
The new solution paves the way for satellites in low earth orbits to continuously maintain communications with the ground, receiving and transmitting data on demand and in real-time.
