MBZ-Sat has been in development by Emirati engineers at the MBRSC since 2020, with most of the satellite parts made by private companies.
The MBRSC is sending MBZ-SAT to space through SpaceX's rideshare programme.
With high-resolution satellite imagery, MBZ-SAT will play a key role in supporting the Emirati space sector.
MBZ-SAT, named after Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, is expected to be launched in 2023.
