The festival holds numerous events to promote European cinema and foster collaboration between European and Saudi filmmakers.
The jurors will evaluate the nominated films using the Festival Scope digital platform, which is a partner of the ACC.
To date, Netflix is the first and only streaming service to have signed this agreement with French film organisations.
The deal also notably advances the window for Canal+, allowing it to offer films six months after their release in theatres, contrary to the current eight-month waiting period.
With the aim to discover the Arab world, EFP and the ACC launched the Arab Critics' Award for European Films in 2019 dedicated to European cinema.
