The satellite is a Very High Throughput (VHTS) craft and aims to boost Eutelsat's broadband coverage over Africa.
This satellite will allow Eutelsat to provide Internet services at up to 100 Mbps speed. Its launch has been planned to take place mid-January 2020.
General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies has been selected to provide seven antennas. Hughes Networks Systems to supply the ground network system.
