The film will be screened at the IFC Center in New York and Laemmle cinemas in Los Angeles.

Scales was shot on location in Oman, where the sea and rocky environment create a dystopian, black and white landscape.
The film is the work of Saudi Arabian writer and Director Shahad Ameen and follows her award-winning short "Eye & Mermaid", which premiered at Dubai International Film Festival in 2013.
