In the ninth edition of SIFF, 30 films will mark their Middle East debut this year, while 11 will have their premiere in the GCC region.
The four-phase training programme to continue until the launch of the ninth edition of SIFF in October.
The agreement was signed by Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of FUNN and SIFF, and Baker Ma, Founder and CEO, MENA Mobile.
Additionally, nine artistic and applied workshops for all age groups will be organised based on two workshops per day.
25 films from regional and international filmmakers will be added to the platform to ensure children are kept occupied during the ongoing stay-at-home measures.
The move is in line with SIFF’s commitment to help audiences stay entertained during the lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Children and youth aged between 12 and 20 years are eligible to apply for the jury.
The selection includes feature-length films, short films as well as animation films, by filmmakers from the UAE, Kuwait, UK, USA, France, South Africa, Brazil and Iran.
The festival, scheduled to take place from October 11 to 16, is dedicated to enhancing the media literacy of children and youth, fostering creativity and showcasing films by children.
This year, Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth highlights the issue by showcasing the indomitable spirit of stateless children and youth.
This year's jury includes a diverse group of accomplished artists, film directors and social media influencers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt, Japan, France, Canada, UK and Syria.
