Gaurav Banerjee will succeed NP Singh, who will move into the role of Non-Executive Chairman after a 25-year tenure.
The newly merged company will be home to 75 TV channels, two streaming services, two film studios, a digital content studio and an expanded library.
The proposed merged entity will be led by current Zee CEO Punit Goenka.
